🚿 1. The Moisture First Rule

Coloring can strip the hair of its natural oils.

  • The Goal: Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

  • Action: Use a Sulfate-Free Moisturizing Shampoo. Sulfates are harsh and will strip your expensive color right out. Follow up with a deep conditioner every single time you wash.

☀️ 2. Sun Protection for Your Hair

Believe it or not, the sun can "bleach" and dry out your color.

  • The Goal: Prevent fading.

  • Action: If you’re going to be outdoors for a long time, wear a hat or use a light hair oil with natural UV protectants (like Red Raspberry Seed oil or Avocado oil).

🧴 3. Seal the Cuticle

  • The Goal: Lock in the gold.

  • Action: After washing and conditioning, do a final rinse with cool water. This helps seal the hair cuticle, locking in the moisture and the color.

🚫 4. Limit the Heat

  • The Goal: Avoid "Toasted" tips.

  • Action: Since your hair has been chemically processed, it’s more sensitive to heat. Try to air-dry or use the "cool" setting on your blow dryer as much as possible.

🛌 5. The Nightly Wrap (No Exceptions!)

  • The Goal: Prevent friction and dryness.

  • Action: Use your silk or satin bonnet. Cotton pillowcases act like a sponge—they will suck the moisture right out of your colored locs while you sleep.
