More Than a Wax: Brows, Dreams, and 90s Style at the Boxyard

Working at the LAMIK in downtown Tulsa is about more than just "applying" a look—it’s about the connection and the conversation that happens in the chair. In my latest video, I sat down with a fantastic 15-year-old client who is already making waves with her 90s-inspired style and big dreams.

The "No-Guesswork" Brow Method

One of the biggest mistakes people make with brows is "freehanding" the shape. Here’s how I avoid that:

Map it Out: Before I even touch the wax, I use the LAMIK Brow Kit to outline the shape [00:26]. This shows me exactly how you normally wear your brows so I don’t take off too much.
Wax vs. Razor: I’m not a fan of the "razor on a stick" method [01:38]. Razors just cut the hair at the surface, so it grows back almost immediately. Waxing removes the hair from the root, giving you a cleaner look for much longer.
Post-Wax Care: To avoid that "ripped skin" feeling some people have experienced elsewhere, we always follow up with Aloe Vera to calm the skin [01:51].

JT’s Warning: We all lived through the thin "sperm eyebrow" era of the 90s [05:42]. Learn from us—shaving off your brows or over-plucking can cause them to stop growing back entirely!
