In my video, I work with a male model to demonstrate how to prep the skin and provide just enough coverage to look flawless under harsh studio lights.

Step 1: Prep and Repair

The biggest hurdle for high-definition cameras is skin texture. My model arrived with a dry spot underneath his eye that would have looked flaky and distracting on film [01:11].

The Fix: Before any product touches the face, you must hydrate. Applying moisturizer specifically to dry patches or under-eye areas helps smooth the texture so the makeup doesn't sit on top of the skin [02:24].
Pro Tip: Men should follow a "Cleanse, Tone, and Moisturize" routine every day to keep their skin healthy for the camera [01:23].

Step 2: Targeted Enhancement

For men, the goal is "invisible" coverage. You don't need a full face of foundation; you only need to address specific issues.

The Brows: Many men have thick brows that thin out at the tails. A tiny bit of brow powder on the very ends can provide definition without looking unnatural [01:42].
Discoloration: Most men experience some discoloration in the cheek or jaw area from years of shaving. I apply a very small amount of liquid foundation ONLY to these areas to even out the skin tone [02:32].

Step 3: Controlling the Shine

Studio lights are hot and can make skin look oily or sweaty very quickly.

Mineral Powder: I use LAMIK Warm Chocolate Mineral Powder to set the face. It absorbs oils and prevents the "shiny" look that can ruin a professional photo [02:50].
