More Than Play: Inside a LAMIK Pre-Teen Makeover Party!

Makeup for young girls is about one thing: Playing and dressing up! Whether it’s for a birthday or a special occasion like Halloween, little ones are naturally curious about the colors and tools they see on their moms’ vanities.

In my latest video, I sat down with my client Mia and her daughter Dorian to plan the ultimate 8th birthday surprise—a LAMIK Lux Makeup Party [03:41]!

Birthday Fun with a Purpose

The Concept: When friends and parents come to celebrate, a percentage of the makeup proceeds goes directly to a local charity [04:34]. It’s a beautiful way to celebrate a birthday while teaching the girls the power of community.

What We Teach the "Mini-Models"

The goal of a LAMIK makeover party isn't to make an 8-year-old look like an adult. It’s about teaching them the proper way to play while keeping their look age-appropriate [03:26].

The Colorful Smokey Eye: Dorian loves purple and blue [01:21]! We show the girls how to apply these fun shades without irritation, using the right brushes and gentle techniques [01:50].
Age-Appropriate Glow: Instead of heavy blush, we use bronzer to add a little shimmer to the cheeks [02:39]. It’s subtle, sparkly, and perfect for a pre-teen.
First Lashes: No heavy mascara here! We teach them how to use clear mascara to groom their lashes and brows [02:22].
