I personally use a Sigma Cleaning Pad—it was a gift from my mom years ago, and it’s still going strong! The different textures on the pad help agitate the bristles to pull out every ounce of old foundation and pigment.

[!IMPORTANT] The 3-Use Rule: Clean your brushes after no more than 3 uses. You’ll see people online saying brushes "work better" when they’re dirty—but your clogged pores and breakouts will tell a different story!

🚩 The "Red Flag" Checklist: Time to Toss!

If your brush fits any of these descriptions, it’s time to say goodbye and start fresh:

The "Shedder": If you find bristles on your face after applying your powder, the glue inside has failed.
The "Scratcher": If the bristles feel prickly or irritating, they’ve become brittle. This is common with old natural hair brushes and can cause micro-tears in your skin.
The "Stiff": If the brush is permanently sticky even after a deep clean, it has too much product buildup trapped inside the "cuticle."
The "Scented": A funky smell means your brush is holding onto bacteria or mold. Toss it immediately!
The "Wobbler": If the metal ferrule is loose on the handle, you’ve lost your precision.
