We’ve all been there: you’re ready to head out, your makeup is perfect, and then... the lash glue happens. Applying strip lashes is one of those skills that feels impossible until someone breaks it down for you.
As a beauty expert, I’ve applied thousands of lashes. Today, I’m sharing my foolproof method to getting that seamless, professional look at home without the stress!
7-Step Method
The Gentle Lift: Using your tweezers, carefully remove the strip lashes from the tray. Be gentle so you don't ruin the curve of the band!
The Measurement: Before you even touch the glue, hold the lashes up to your natural lash line with your tweezers to measure the width.
The Custom Trim: Most lashes are made too wide. Cut the strip lashes a little shorter than the width of your natural lashes. Expert Tip: Always trim from the outer corner!
The Glue Application: Lightly apply strip lash glue to the band. You don't need a thick layer—just a consistent one.
The "Tacky" Wait: This is the step most people skip! Allow the glue to dry, but not all the way. You want it to be tacky (usually about 30 seconds). If it’s too wet, it will slide all over your eye.
The Placement: Using your tweezers, place the lashes at the root of your natural lashes. Start in the center, then secure the corners. Use the tweezers to gently push them into your natural lash line so they "marry" together.
The Final Touch: Give the glue about 1 minute to dry completely. Once it’s set, apply a light coat of mascara to blend your natural lashes with the strips.
Why Mascara Last?
Applying mascara after the lashes are on helps "lock" them together and hides any leftover glue or gaps. It’s the secret to making them look like extensions rather than strips!
Practice Makes Perfect!
Don't get discouraged if it takes a few tries. Even as a pro, some days are easier than others! If you're struggling with a specific part of the application, leave a comment below and I'll help you troubleshoot.
