Choosing the Right Eyeliner for Your Vibe
Whether you want a soft, smoky gaze or a sharp, "cut-glass" wing, the tool you choose matters just as much as the technique. I get asked all the time: "JT, which liner should I be using?"
The truth is, most of us need more than one in our kit! Let’s break down the types of eyeliner and when to use them.
1. Cream & Gel
The Vibe: Rich, bold, and smudge-able.
Best For: Creating a thick, dramatic line or a base for a smoky eye. These usually come in a pot and require a brush. They give you a little time to blend before they "set" and become budge-proof.
2. Liquid
The Vibe: Sharp, high-fashion, and precise.
Best For: That iconic "Goddess" wing or a cat-eye. It delivers the most intense pigment but requires a steady hand.
3. Powder
The Vibe: Soft, natural, and effortless.
Best For: Everyday wear. Using a damp angled brush with a dark powder (like our Soft Black Brow Powder) creates a soft "halo" effect around the eyes that isn't too harsh.
4. Pencil
The Vibe: The versatile classic.
Best For: Lining the "waterline" (the inner rim of the eye) or quickly defining the lash line. It’s the most beginner-friendly option!
JT’s Favorite: The Pen 🖊️
I am a huge fan of the of Liquid Eye Liners Pens. It combines the intensity of a liquid with the control of a marker.
Pro-Tip: My absolute favorite liner pens are also Lash Glue. Yes, you heard me! High-quality lash glue now comes in a pen form. It makes applying your strip lashes 10x easier because you just draw the line and "click" the lash right onto it. No mess, no waiting for glue to get tacky.
Which Liner Should You Choose?
For a Night Out: Go for the Gel or Pen for staying power.
For the Office: Stick to Powder or Pencil for a softer look.
For the "Lash Lover": Grab that Lash Glue Pen and never struggle with strips again!
