The Purple & Gold Eye Tutorial

There is something so powerful about the combination of purple and gold. It’s regal, it’s bold, and it’s surprisingly easy to achieve when you follow the right steps. This look is about depth and light working together to make your eyes the center of attention.

Follow these 7 steps to get this royal glow:

Step 1: The Frame

Start with your brows. Fill them in with a brow color that matches your hair tone. To get that crisp, clean look, highlight the brow bone using your natural-toned concealer. This creates a sharp "frame" for the bold colors we’re about to use.

Step 2: The Royal Lid

Base: First, base your eyelids with a concealer lighter than your skin tone. This acts as a primer to make the purple and gold really stand out.
The Purple: Apply a deep purple with a little shimmer all over the eyelid, stopping at the middle of your crease.
The Gold: Take a cream gold color and apply it right to the center of your eyelid using a concealer brush. This creates a "halo" effect that draws light to the eyes.

Step 3: Define with Color

Skip the black liner today! Instead, line your top and bottom lashes using a deep purple. This keeps the look soft but sultry and ties the whole eye together.

Step 4: The Finishing Lash

To pull the look together, apply a medium-to-long strip lash for drama, or keep it classic with a few coats of LAMIK Show Out Mascara.

Step 5: Flawless Finish

Now that the eyes are done, clean up any fallout and apply your Custom Blend Foundation and True Mineral Powder. Keeping the skin even allows the eyes to be the star.

Step 6: The "Lifted" Cheek

Apply a red-peach color to your cheekbones. Use an angled blush brush to blend upward and outward toward your temples. This technique gives your face a natural lift.

Step 7: The Berry Lip

Finish the look with a rich berry red lip color. The coolness of the berry perfectly complements the purple tones in your eyes for a cohesive, professional finish.

When working with shimmery cream colors (like the gold in Step 2), use a "patting" motion with your brush rather than a "sweeping" motion. This keeps the shimmer exactly where you want it!
