My Honest Review
We’ve all seen them—those bright green, purple, or red color-correcting sticks that promise to hide every imperfection. But do they actually work for everyday women, or are they just making us do more work? Today, I’m putting the ELF Cover Stick to the test against my tried-and-true LAMIK favorites.

The Setup: Protecting the Canvas
Because I have sensitive skin, I never go straight in with a new product. I based my skin with a primer. I make sure I know it works for my skin. It acts as a protective barrier and helps my makeup stay put all day. This helps me see how and/of if the product changes during the day.
For the Eyes & Brows:
Brows: The LAMIK Brow Kit (you know I love it!).

Eyes: I used LAMIK Contour Blush in I 85; a pink with bronze undertone as an eye shadow—talk about versatility!
Liner & Lashes: Onyx Liquid Eyeliner on top, an L.A. Colors pencil on the bottom, and finished with LAMIK Show Out Mascara. Bold and beautiful.
The Test: The Red Cover Stick
When I opened this red ELF cover stick, I had to ask: "Do I really have to turn my skin red to get the coverage I want?" I applied it to my normal highlight zones, and honestly? I looked scary and metallic. I generally don't recommend color correctors that aren't skin-tone based for everyday use. Most people find them hard to blend, and for me, it felt heavy on the skin.
The Rescue: LAMIK to the Save
I didn't like the red at all. Since I already have red undertones, I was worried I'd look sunburnt once my foundation was on. To fix it:
I blended the stick with my LAMIK Foundation Brush to thin it out.

The Finish: Powders & Lips
The "Power Lip" Combo:
Base: Blue Jeans Eye Decor (Yes, on the lips! It’s a deep blue-green that makes your lipstick bulletproof).
Color: Really Red Lipstick (A true matte red).
Moisture: A swipe of She Woman (Bright pink/purple) for shine.
The Verdict: Coverage Stick or Naw?
NAW. For me, it’s a no. The coverage stick made me do way too much extra work just to fix the color it put on my face. I always recommend buying products that are true to your skin tone from the start. Why turn your face red just to cover it back up?
JT’s Professional Advice
"Makeup should enhance your life, not make it harder. If a product requires three other products just to make it look 'normal,' it’s not the right product for you. Stick to what's true to your skin!"
What do you think of the final look?
Have you ever tried a color-correcting stick and regretted it?
