A Tribute to Prince

The world lost a true visionary, and like so many of you, my heart is heavy. Rest in Peace to Prince. He wasn't just a musician; he was a style icon who taught us all how to be bold, be different, and—of course—to love the color purple.

Recently, a long-time Prince fan and dear client of mine came in to get her makeup done for a special tribute show. We knew there was only one way to go: The Royal Purple Look.

The Eyes: Metallic & Matte

To capture that legendary Prince "vibe," we layered different textures of purple to give the eyes depth and drama:

The Base: We started with a Soft Matte Purple Eye Décor all over the eyelid. This provided a smooth, rich foundation of color.
The Pop: We layered a Metallic Purple Eye Décor on top to give it that rockstar shimmer.
The Brightener: To keep her eyes looking wide and awake, we highlighted the inner corners with a light metallic Eye Décor. It’s the perfect "spotlight" for the face!

The Balance: Soft & Nude

When the eyes are this bold and "royal," you have to keep the rest of the look under control. We didn't want the lips and eyes competing for attention.

The Lip: We finished with a beautiful Soft Nude Lipstick.
The Glow: To keep it fresh, we topped it off with Clear Slick Lipgloss.

The Result

She walked out ready to celebrate the life and legacy of a legend, looking absolutely flawless. Makeup is such a powerful way to express our love and respect for the artists who touch our lives.

JT’s Tribute Tip

Prince taught us to never be afraid of color. If you’ve been sticking to browns and tans, let this be your sign to try a pop of purple this week in his honor!
