Dancing Through the Sweet Life
Being a beauty expert has taught me one major lesson: The best highlighter in the world can’t mimic the glow you get from movement.
As many of you know, my life is a constant dance—literally! I make it a point to dance every single day. It isn't just about cardio; it’s about soul-care. But there is a deeper reason why I keep my body moving.
The Balance: Sweets vs. Wellness
I’ll be the first to admit it—I love sweets. Give me a pastry or a piece of candy, and I’m happy. However, with diabetes running in my family, I have to be intentional. I’ve learned that I don't have to live a life of "no," I just have to live a life of balance.
For me, dance is the great balancer.
It helps manage my blood sugar levels.
It boosts my mood (which stops the stress-eating!).
It keeps my skin looking vibrant by increasing circulation.
When I’m dancing daily, my beauty routine shifts. I focus on:
Hydration is Queen: To keep my skin plump and my energy up, I drink water like it’s my job.
Breathable Bases: When I know I’m going to be moving, I opt for lightweight, non-comedogenic products at all times.
The Post-Dance Flush: There is nothing like the natural flush you get after a 20-minute dance session. It’s the perfect "base" for any look.
If you’re struggling to find a workout you enjoy, or if you’re worried about your own health history, my advice is to just start moving. Put on your favorite song and move in your living room for five minutes.
Beauty isn't just about what we put on our faces; it’s about the energy we create in our bodies.
What’s one song that always gets you moving?
