Years ago, I bought a pair of 100% natural earrings at a hair show. I loved them, but they made people ask me so many questions about being natural. The questions weren't always questions—sometimes they were more like statements:
"You’re going natural..."
"You do your own hair..."
"Since you’re natural, why do you wear makeup..."
"Your brows are so thick..."
At first, these comments made me start to doubt this whole natural thing. I would feel beautiful, but the questions would leave me guessing about my own beauty. My confidence was completely dependent on what other people had to say.
I got sick of the questions. I realized that my self-worth could not be tied to anyone else's opinion. Now, I am here to say that if you don't have a positive thing to say about someone on their natural journey, it's best to keep your comments to yourself.
Instead of questioning someone's choices, lift them up. Just tell them:
"Girl, you look great!"
"Your makeup is flawless!"
"I love your hairstyle!"
"Brows on fleek!"
Ingredient Spotlight:
Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate
While it's a mouthful to say, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate is a vital ingredient in many high-quality beauty products.
How It's Used in Beauty Products
Protects the Formula: This ingredient's main job is to prevent other components in the product from oxidizing.
It acts as a stabilizer, protecting delicate oils, pigments, and vitamins from breaking down when exposed to light or air. This ensures the product's color and texture remain consistent over time. Extends Shelf Life: By preventing oxidation and degradation, it helps to significantly extend the shelf life of a product.
This means your makeup and skincare will stay fresh and effective for longer, so you can get the most out of your purchase. Supports Active Ingredients: It's an essential partner to other antioxidants and active ingredients.
For example, it helps stabilize sensitive ingredients like Vitamin E, ensuring they remain potent and effective at protecting your skin.
In short, this ingredient is an invisible guardian, working behind the scenes to keep your favorite products at their best.
Always check the ingredients before using a new product. Your skin is the largest organ. Remember, some of what you put on your skin can be absorbed into your bloodstream
