Buying lip color should be fun and empowering, not hard. My biggest piece of advice? Don't worry about whether you can "pull off" a color or if it's the "right" shade for your skin tone. Instead, embrace new looks and try every color that catches your eye.

If you love how it looks when you see it in the mirror, wear it! If you don’t, then don't. Never let anyone tell you that a color doesn't look right on you.

Pro Tips for Experimenting

If you're unsure about a color, play with it! A little creativity can make any shade work. Try these tricks:

Use a different lip liner to define the shape and change the undertone.
Use different colors as a base on your lips.
Add a different color on top to create a unique shade.

Take lots of photos of yourself wearing the color. Be honest with yourself, but don't talk yourself out of a shade that could look amazing.

Once you find a color you love, you have to decide what's most important to you: the color, the cost, the brand, or the ingredients. For me, the ingredients are a non-negotiable. No matter how much I love a color or a price, I will not buy it if it contains certain ingredients.
