My "Billboard" Secrets
Whenever I meet new clients, they always say, "JeTara, your skin is so flawless! You must have been born with it." I always laugh and tell them: I wish!! The truth is, I have dealt with skin issues my entire life. The only reason my face looks the way it does today is because of my habits. I don't play when it comes to my face—it is my billboard, my brand, and my first impression.
In the treatment room, masks are a super important part of a professional facial, but you have to know how to use them at home. There are so many types, and each one has a specific purpose. If you want that "born with it" glow, here are my Pro Tips for masking the right way.

5 Mask Tips for Balanced Skin
Balance is Everything: Ultra-drying or clay masks should only be used on Super Oily Skin. Even if you are battling acne, a harsh drying mask can be too much and strip your barrier. Skin care is about balance, not dehydration!
Watch Out for Waxes: Stay away from masks that feel waxy or overly oily; they will block your pores. The goal of skincare is clean pores for clear skin.
The "Multi-Mask" Secret: If you have combination skin, you don't have to use one product all over. You can use a clay mask on your oily T-zone and a hydrating mask on your dry cheeks at the same time!
Winter Survival: Hydrating masks are a must for dry skin or during the winter months. Look for masks loaded with antioxidants and nourishing oils. Remember: not all oils are bad! Jojoba and Rosehip are examples of oils your skin actually loves.
Read the Label: Avoid masks with harsh chemicals and high alcohol content. These might give you a temporary "tight" feeling, but they are damaging your skin in the long run.
The Timer: You should leave your mask on for 10–30 minutes. You have to give the ingredients time to actually do the work they were hired to do!
Breakout Emergency: Charcoal masks are my "go-to" when I’m having a breakout, but they are powerful. I only do a charcoal mask once a month to deep clean without irritating my skin.
The Removal: Never scrub your mask off. Use a warm, soft towel to gently steam and wipe the product away. Your skin should feel pampered, not punished.
🛍️ Prep Your Billboard
Before you mask, make sure your skin is perfectly prepped and your tools are clean:
Clay Mask – great for weekly use to help with breakouts
Toner – The perfect follow-up to a mask day to keep your pores clean and protected.
Moisturizer- To seal in moist and protect your skin
A Gel Mask- to hydrate the skin, look for products with aloe and claiming ingredient
