A Fashion Show Look: Get the Look
A flawless makeup look starts with the right foundation—not just your foundation product, but the canvas you're working on. For a high-stakes event like a fashion show, we always begin by prepping the skin. The model had wonderful skin to begin with, and we made sure it was prepped for longevity by using a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer, followed by a face primer to ensure the look would last under the lights.
Now, follow these steps to achieve this stunning and long-lasting look.
Step 1: Brows
Fill in the brows using a brow powder that matches your hair color. For this look, we filled the brows a little darker than usual to create a bold frame. For an extra highlight, we applied a concealer one shade lighter directly under the brow.
Step 2: Eyes
Begin by priming the eyelid with an eye shadow primer. Then, apply a light pink eye-shadow to your lid. Using the same brush (after cleaning it with a gentle brush cleaner), apply a light purple eye-shadow in your crease. Next, apply a light silver shade to the inner eye crease and extend it to just below the middle of the brow arch, being careful not to cover the concealer highlight.
Step 3: Liner
Create a defined line on the top lid using a black liquid eyeliner, extending it into a bold wing. On the bottom, use a black sparkly powder as eyeliner just above the lash line. Clean your brush, then apply a bright bronze gold eye-shadow just below your lash line to add a pop of color.
Step 4: Lashes
Apply a set of super long and thick strip lashes, then blend them with a coat of mascara for a seamless and dramatic effect. Lashes to the heavens!
Step 5: Face
To perfect the canvas, cover any dark spots with concealer. Then, use a foundation brush to apply a full-coverage foundation all over the face. For the model, we used a concealer that was one shade lighter than her skin tone under her eyes. Set the foundation with a mineral powder using a kabuki brush.
Step 6: Cheeks
Create dimension by contouring with a brown-rose blush, applied just under the cheekbones. Highlight the tops of the cheekbones with a bronze gold eye shadow. To finish, use a light pink bronze blush on the apples of your cheeks for a rosy flush. The side view of the contour flows beautifully and looks completely natural.
Step 7: Lips
For the perfect red lip, begin by prepping with a concealer as a base. Line the lips with a Maple lip liner, then apply a Berry Red lipstick to the center of the lips. Finish the look by applying a True Red lipstick all over the lips. For this model, her full lips and the classic red color worked together wonderfully. We finished the look with a glossy red for extra moisture.
Final Pro Tips
Final Checks: I always have models close their eyes so I can double-check the look from all angles. This ensures everything is blended perfectly and the look is flawless.
Contouring: Remember to view the face from all angles. A well-contoured face will have a natural flow and seamless blend from every perspective.
Harmonize: The key to this look is the perfect harmony between a bold eye and a stunning red lip.

Ingredient Spotlight:
Ingredient Spotlight: Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter
Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter is a natural fat extracted from cocoa beans. You probably know it from chocolate, but it's also a powerful ingredient in many beauty products, prized for its ability to hydrate and soften skin.
How It's Used in Makeup
Hydrating Emollient: Cocoa butter is an excellent emollient. It helps to deeply moisturize dry skin, creating a smooth, supple canvas for makeup application. It's often found in foundations, primers, and concealers to prevent a cakey or dry finish.
Thickening Agent: Because it's solid at room temperature and melts on contact with skin, cocoa butter is used to give products a creamy, luxurious texture. This makes it a key ingredient in lipsticks and solid foundations, helping them glide on smoothly and feel rich.
Protective Barrier: Cocoa butter forms a thin, protective barrier on the skin, which helps to lock in moisture and keep your skin hydrated throughout the day while you wear makeup.
Always check the ingredients before using a new product.
