They say friends are the family you pick up along your journey in life. When I first set out on this "natural journey," I took a leap of faith. I left behind what was comfortable and jumped toward my goals.
I’ll be honest: there were moments where I felt completely alone and lost. But then, I look at photos like these, and I’m reminded of the tribe that keeps me on track. Life isn’t going to be beautiful every single day, but it’s up to us to hold onto the beauty we find and pull from it when we need it most.
Just like we need the warmth of friends to keep our spirits bright, we need to make sure we are protecting our skin (and our little ones!) from the actual sun. As the weather warms up, let's talk about Sun Care for the family.
☀️ Kid Sunscreen: What to Look For
Protecting your children’s skin is just as important as protecting your own. Their skin is thinner and more sensitive, so you have to be a label-reader!
What to Avoid:
Oxybenzone: This is a common chemical filter that can be an endocrine disruptor.
Fragrances & Parabens: These are the #1 cause of skin irritation and "sun rashes" in kids.
Spray Sunscreens (Directly on Face): Avoid spraying directly on a child's face to prevent them from inhaling the fumes. Spray your hands first, then rub it on.
Mineral-Based (Physical) Blockers: Look for Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide. These sit on top of the skin and reflect the sun like a mirror, rather than being absorbed into the bloodstream.
Broad Spectrum: This ensures they are protected from both UVA (aging) and UVB (burning) rays.
Water Resistance: Kids are usually active! Make sure the label says it lasts for 40-80 minutes in the water.
💡 Esthetician Tip: Don't Forget the "Billboard!"
Even if you are wearing a hat, the sun reflects off the pavement and water.
Prep: Apply your LAMIK Balancing Moisturizer first to keep the skin hydrated.
Protect: Layer your sunblock over your moisturizer.
Perfect: If you're heading to an outdoor event, use your True Mineral Powder. It acts as an extra physical barrier against the elements and keeps you from looking "greasy" in the heat.
