We’ve all seen a bold makeup look in a magazine and thought, "I love that, but I could never pull it off myself." I recently had a client come into the studio with that exact feeling. She was inspired by a vibrant green look but felt scared to try it on her own. She booked an Eye Makeover Appointment, and together, we revealed a side of her beauty she hadn't seen before!
Using three specific shades, we created a structured, high-fashion look that made her eyes the star of the show.
Get the Look: Step-by-Step Green Artistry
Step 1: Frame with Precision We started with the LAMIK Brow Kit in Dark Brown. To make the brows look sharp and clean, I used a Sculpting Cream just a shade above her natural skin tone to carve out the shape.
Pro Tip: For this specific look, avoid any shine or shimmer on the brow bone. Keep it matte to let the green shadow pop.
Step 2: Base & Color Pack To ensure the color lasted all day, I based her eyelid with a concealer. Then, using the flat side of the LAMIK Eye Décor Brush, I "packed" a Ostrich Green Eye Décor onto the middle of the eyelid, stopping at the crease. Packing the color (rather than sweeping) gives you the richest pigment.
Step 3: Contour the Crease Using the tip of the same brush, I used a Deep Jade Green with Sparkles Eye Décor (a deep, dramatic shade) to contour. I pushed the color deep into the outer crease, moving the brush side-to-side from the outer corner toward the middle.
Note: Stop at the middle! Don’t take the dark color all the way to the inner corner if you want the eyes to look wide and bright.
Step 4: The Inner Highlight After a quick clean of the brush, I used Metallic Gray Eye Décor to highlight the inner corners. I used a dabbing motion with the flat tip to apply the light color, which instantly brightens the gaze.
Step 5: Define the Line Instead of a heavy pencil, I used the LAMIK Brow Brush and the same Deep Jade Green with Sparkles Eye Décor to line the lashes. This creates a softer, more sophisticated definition.
Step 6: The Magic We finished the eyes by pumping up the volume with LAMIK Show Out Mascara.
The Reveal
In this specific style, I chose not to blend all the colors together. Keeping the colors distinct gave her the structured, editorial look she was dreaming of! My client only came in for a eye makeup over so she did her face at home, To finish a look like this, I recommend:
Face: Your custom-tone foundation and True Mineral Powder.
Cheeks: A deep brown-tone blush for a subtle contour.
Lips: A neutral lip to keep the focus on the vibrant green eyes.
💡 JeTara’s Timeless Tip:
"Don't be afraid of color; just be intentional with where you place it! An 'Eye Makeover' is the perfect way to step out of your comfort zone and find a new signature style."
