Why I Always Come Home to LAMIK

Looking back at 2006, I have to laugh. At the time, I was a student at Texas Southern University (TSU), but I’ll be honest: I was spending way more time "getting cute" than I was doing my schoolwork. My mom saw what was happening and gave me an ultimatum: I had six months to figure out my life.

With access to the GI Bill thanks to my father’s military service, I decided to pivot. I enrolled in esthetician school, knowing that once those months were up, I would be on my own. I chose skincare because I loved the science and the transformation, but breaking into the industry was harder than I ever imagined.

I tried building my own business while balancing TSU again, and that’s when someone told me about LAMIK.

The Best of Both Worlds

Over the years, my career has taken me many places. I’ve managed counters at Dillard’s and worked with global brands, but what always brings me back to LAMIK is the energy of the events. Let’s be real: doing back-to-back services in a single treatment room can be hard on the body and, frankly, a little boring for a person like me! Working with LAMIK gives me the best of both worlds. I get to use my esthetician skills to transform faces, but I get to do it in high-energy, empowering environments.
