When Houston’s First Lady of Hip Hop, TroubleSum, walks into the room, you know something legendary is about to happen. She visited me at LAMIK to get ready for a special event, and she had one specific request: A Glitter Eye.

Who is TroubleSum?

TroubleSum is a force of nature in Southern music and culture. As one of the few female MCs consistently acknowledged on a national scale, she has graced MTV and BET, worked with icons like Bun B, and was named "Best Female Rapper" by the Houston Press.

But what makes her truly shine—besides her lyrics—is her heart. Inspired by legends like Tupac and The Clark Sisters, she remains steadfast in her self-respect and regularly gives back to non-profits and charities. Her future is as bright as her winning smile, and I was honored to provide the glam to match that glow!

Want to rock the stage like Houston’s finest?

Follow these steps to recreate her high-fashion, "Fashion Forward" look:

Step 1: The Frame (Brows) I defined her brows using Dark Brown Brow Powder and cleaned them up with her skin-tone Brow Sculpting Cream for that sharp, celebrity finish.
Step 2: The Main Event (Eyes) We started with a Soft White Shimmer Eye Décor on the lid and a touch of Dark Brown Powder in the crease. To add a pop of color, I blended Pastel Pink Eye Décor above the crease before adding the star of the show: Glitter all over the lid!
Step 3: The Edge (Liner) Nothing says Hip Hop royalty like a sharp, Black Liquid Eye Liner.
Step 4: The Volume (Lashes) She already had single lashes on, so we layered a thin strip lash on top to give her that extra "oomph" for the cameras.
Step 5: The Base (Face) I applied her Custom Blend Full Coverage Foundation and set it with True Mineral Powder for a long-wearing, stage-ready finish.
Step 6: The Dimension (Cheeks) I used a Bronze Pink with Brown Contour Blush right on the cheekbone. To make her features pop, I added a True Mineral Powder one shade lighter than her skin tone under her eyes as a highlight.
Step 7: The Pout (Lips) For a unique, long-lasting pink, I based her lips with Pastel Pink Eye Décor and topped it off with a Bright Pink Shimmer Lip Gloss.
