My Mission at LAMIK

Working for LAMIK, my job is more than just applying foundation or shaping brows—my job is to empower women and girls. And truly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Every day I pick up a brush, I am mindful of why I do this. Growing up, I didn't see enough faces like mine in the positions I dreamed of reaching. While I had many wonderful role models, Black professionals in the beauty and business world were hard to find. I didn't always have a blueprint that looked like me.

The Power of Representation

I know firsthand what it feels like to search for yourself in the world around you. That is why my goal is so clear: I want to be that Black professional that our youth can look up to. I want a young girl to see me running my shop, working with a national brand like LAMIK, and leading with kindness, and say, "I want to be just like her when I grow up."

Empowerment is a Full-Time Job

At LAMIK, we say we "Reveal Your Beauty," but I believe we also reveal your potential. When a young queen sits in my chair, I’m not just showing her how to use a Brow Kit; I’m showing her that:

Her skin is a canvas to be celebrated.
Her career dreams are valid and achievable.
Professionalism and excellence belong to her.
