This is such an exciting behind-the-scenes look! Working on a movie set requires a completely different level of skill than everyday makeup, especially when you have to account for "theatrical" moments like a crying scene.
Lights, Camera, Action: On Set with "Escort"
One of the most thrilling parts of my career is working on film sets. To be a true Makeup Artist, you have to understand the script just as much as the skin. Recently, I was on set for the movie "Escort," and I wanted to share a little "behind the scenes" magic with you all!
Makeup That Withstands the Drama
In this particular scene, the actress has to cry. As an artist, that’s a challenge! I needed her to have flawless coverage that wouldn't streak or disappear the moment the tears started flowing.
The Secret Weapon: I based her entire face with LAMIK Brighten Cream.
Why it Works: This creates a durable, hydrating base that helps the makeup "grip" the skin. It allowed her to deliver a powerful, emotional performance while keeping her look intact.
The "High-Class" Transformation
The character is a high-class escort, so her look needed to scream sophistication, luxury, and "expensive" skin.
The Look: We went for a polished, glowing finish that looks flawless under high-definition cameras.
The After: When you see the final look, she looks perfectly put together—even through the emotional weight of the scene.
Life On Set
Being on set means being ready for anything. Whether it’s quick touch-ups between takes or adjusting the lighting on the skin, I love the fast-paced energy of a movie shoot. It’s all about making sure the character’s beauty brings the story forward.
JT’s Professional Tip
Even if you aren't starring in a movie, life can get emotional! If you know you have a long day (or a tear-jerker wedding) ahead of you, using a cream-based primer or "Brighten Cream" is the best way to ensure your face stays "camera-ready" from morning until night.
