🎤 From Passion to Profession: Why I Speak at Career Day

People often ask me how I became so driven. The truth? It started at home.

The best thing my mother ever did for me was tell me the plain truth: I had to find a career because she wasn't going to pay my bills forever. At the time, it felt like a challenge, but looking back, it was the greatest gift she ever gave me. Isn't that what every parent truly wants? To see their child become independent, capable, and self-sufficient. That "push" forced me to look deep inside at what I loved.

Becoming a Esthetician put me on the path, but finding LAMIK gave me a career. It gave me a purpose.

Paying it Forward to the Youth

Because of my journey, I jump at every chance to speak to young people about their futures. Whether I’m at a high school auditorium or a church youth service, my message is always the same: Your talent is your ticket to independence.

When I show them my kit and share my story, I want them to see that "Beauty" isn't just about lipstick—it’s a viable, professional industry. It’s a career that can take you from the local neighborhood to the runway at Fashion Week, all while allowing you to stand on your own two feet.

My Advice to the Next Generation:

Find Your "Why": What do you love so much that you’d do it for free? Now, learn how to turn that into a business.
Listen to the "No's": When my mom said "no" to paying my bills, she was saying "yes" to my potential. Don't be afraid of the hard conversations.
Be a Student of the Craft: Whether it’s learning the "Cat Eye" or mastering the "Sanitation Station," be the best at what you do.
