Global Beauty
Fashion is a universal language, and at a Asian Community Fashion Show, beauty was the main event. LAMIK was honored to be the official makeup sponsor, ensuring every model walked the runway with a "Billboard Ready" glow that looked flawless under the high-intensity spotlights.
When working backstage at a cultural fashion show, the goal is to honor the models' natural features while making sure the makeup translates to the back of the room.
The Runway Essentials: Top 5 Products Used
To achieve those high-fashion looks, we relied on these five staples:
True Red Lipstick: The ultimate power color for the runway.
A True Neutral Lipstick: A perfect neutral that adds sophistication without distracting from the fashion.
Soft Black Brow Define Powder: Essential for creating the strong, structured frames needed for the stage.
Custom Blend Full Coverage Foundation: Provides the velvet-smooth canvas required for professional photography.
True Mineral Powder: The secret to "fixing" the makeup so it stays put under hot lights.
💡 Tips for Asian Skin on the Runway
Asian skin tones are beautiful and diverse, often having stunning golden or olive undertones. On the runway, the goal is to enhance that radiance without masking it.
1. Finding the "Middle Ground" (Not Too Pale, Not Too Tan)
The most common mistake on the runway is using a foundation that is too light (which looks "ashy" under flashes) or too dark (which can look "muddy").
The Pro Secret: Match the foundation to the chest and shoulders, not just the face. Since runway models show more skin, the face must transition seamlessly into the body.
Custom Blending: This is where the LAMIK Custom Blend shines. We can add specific yellow or peach pigments to match the unique undertones of the model perfectly.
2. Achieving "Glossy Skin" (The Glass Skin Look)
We want the skin to look hydrated and reflective, not oily.
The Technique: Apply LAMIK Balancing Moisturizer generously before foundation.
Selective Powdering: Only apply True Mineral Powder to the "hidden" areas—the sides of the nose, the center of the chin, and the very middle of the forehead. Leave the cheekbones and the bridge of the nose "open" to catch the light. This creates that coveted "Glass Skin" effect.
3. Defining the Eyes
For the runway, we focus on a "lifted" look. Use the Brow Define Powder to draw the tail of the brow slightly upward. This opens up the eye area and creates a more dramatic, high-fashion silhouette.
💡Timeless Thought:
"Beauty has no borders. Whether I am working backstage at a fashion show or one-on-one with a client in the studio, my goal is always the same: to reveal the light that is already there."
