The Power of a Soft Glow

One of the biggest myths in beauty is that you have to "overdo" your makeup for a photo shoot. While the camera does require a bit more definition, the goal is still to look like you—just the most radiant version!

I recently did the makeup for a professional shoot, and I wanted to share the details of how we achieved this fresh, high-fashion look without it feeling heavy or "cakey."

The Eyes: Soft Pastels & Warmth

We wanted the eyes to pop without being dark or smokey.

The Lid: I used a Bright Pastel Yellow with Shimmer. Yellow is a secret weapon for brown skin—it adds an incredible brightness that looks like pure sunshine in photos.
The Crease: To add depth, I blended a Matte Tan Brown. This kept the look grounded and soft.

The Cheeks: A Custom Flush

Photography can sometimes "wash out" your natural color, so I used a bold mix to keep her glowing:

The Contour: I used an Orange Red Contour Blush to sculpt the face.
The Highlight: For a unique, luminous finish, I applied Pastel Pink Eye Décor right on the cheekbones. Using eye décor on the cheeks is one of my favorite tricks for a glow that really catches the studio lights!

The Lips: The Finishing Touch

To keep the focus on her glowing skin and bright eyes, we went with a classic Peach Lip Gloss. It provided just enough color and shine to pull the whole look together.
