If you aren't familiar with it, the challenge is intense: a team has exactly 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit a complete film. As one of the Makeup Artists, my job was to ensure every actor was "Camera Ready" for a story that hadn't even been fully written when I arrived on set!
Behind the Scenes: The High-Stakes Hustle
On a normal set, you have "look books" and weeks of prep. Here? We didn’t even know what the looks were until a few hours after being on set. You have to be ready for anything—from a clean "No-Makeup" look to high-drama character makeup.
The Collaboration: It was amazing to see the actors and crew working so closely. While the actors were learning their lines in just a few hours, the hair team and makeup artists were working right alongside them to build the character.
The Speed: The hair team did an incredible job getting the young models ready in record time. On a 48-hour project, every second counts. If the makeup chair takes too long, the whole production falls behind!
💄 Film Set Essentials: Making it "Perfect" for the Lens
When you’re shooting for the big screen, your products have to be high-performance. I made sure every actor Looked Flawless by focusing on:
Skin Texture: Using Full Coverage Foundation and True Mineral Powder to ensure there was zero unwanted shine under the heavy studio lights.
Definition: Framing the eyes and brows so the actors' expressions translated clearly on camera.
Durability: Using products that wouldn't melt or crease during a grueling 48-hour sprint.
💡 JeTara’s Timeless Truth:
"In film, as in life, you won't always have the script ahead of time. You have to stay ready so you don't have to get ready. When you have mastered your craft—like the LAMIK 7 Steps—you can walk onto any set with confidence, no matter how fast the clock is ticking."
Always check the ingredients before using a new product. Your skin is the largest organ. Remember, some of what you put on your skin can be absorbed into your bloodstream
