The Perfect Brown Smokey Eye

Get The Look

There is nothing more classic and sultry than a smokey eye. While many people reach for black or grey, I love using rich browns to create a look that is deep, warm, and sophisticated.

I recently sat down with the beautiful Model Alexis Fly to create this gorgeous, natural-glam look. 

Want to recreate it at home? Just follow these 7 steps using your LAMIK essentials!

Step 1: The Frame (Brows)

Start by filling in your brows using a brow powder that matches your hair color. This keeps the look soft and natural. Use your skin tone brow sculpting cream to define your brows.

Step 2: The Depth (Eyes)

  • The Base: Prep your entire lid using your Brighten Cream (in your skin tone). This makes the shadow stick and the color pop!

  • The Smoke: Apply Dark Brown Powder across the lid and blend it just slightly above the crease for that "smokey" gradient.

  • Step 3: The Definition (Liner)

Forget the harsh pencils! Use your Duo Brow Brush and dip into a Soft Black Powder. Line both your top and bottom lids for a soft, smudged definition.

Step 4: The Drama (Lashes)

No smokey eye is complete without lashes. Apply your favorite strip lashes to open up the eyes and add instant glamour.

Step 5: The Canvas (Face)

  • Correct: Use your Brighten Cream to cover any dark spots or blemishes.

  • Foundation: Apply your Custom Blend Full Coverage Foundation using a foundation brush for a flawless finish.

  • Set: Use your Kabuki Brush to dust True Mineral Powder over the face to lock everything in place all day.

Step 6: The Glow (Cheeks)

  • Contour: Use that same Dark Brown Powder under your cheekbones to add structure.

  • Highlight: Apply a Light Metallic Gold to the tops of your cheekbones to catch the light.

Step 7: The Pout (Lips)

Keep the lips neutral so the eyes stay the star of the show.

  • Base your lips with a tiny bit of Brighten Cream.

  • Line them with Chestnut Lip Liner.

  • Finish with Clear Lip Gloss right in the middle for a juicy, full-lip effect.
