One of the most vital lessons I’ve learned during my time at LAMIK is the importance of giving back. While I usually celebrate my birthday for myself, my 26th Birthday felt different. When my client Keisha shared the story of Ashlynn Wade—who was diagnosed with breast cancer at just 24 years old—my heart broke.

At the time I was turning 26, I couldn't imagine the journey she was on. But when I spoke to her, she didn't sound defeated; she sounded full of life. I knew I wanted to use my birthday to give Ashlynn a platform to share her story and to teach women that there is a better way to look at their products.

During the event, I led a demonstration focused on paraben-free and talc-free products. What we put on our skin matters—it’s our largest organ and can absorb what we apply directly into our bloodstream.
