💄 Natural vs. Nude: Finding Your Perfect Pout

Many people think "Nude" and "Natural" are the same thing, but they actually serve two different purposes:

  • Natural: This is a "True to You" color. It’s a shade that blends completely with your lip tone. It’s your lips, but better!

  • Nude: This is a statement color. A nude lip is meant to be noticed from a mile away. It creates a high-fashion contrast against your skin tone.

I believe everyone can wear every color—it’s all in the application. My personal favorite is LAMIK Easy Nude. It’s a universal neutral that I can make work for anyone by simply adjusting the lip liner to match their natural lip color first.

✨ The 7-Step Neutral Reveal

For a soft, sophisticated look where the skin and lips are the stars, follow these steps:

  1. Brows: Frame the face with your LAMIK Brow Kit.

  2. Eyes: Keep it soft. I applied True Mineral Powder directly to my lids to matte them out and prevent shine without adding heavy color.

  3. Liner: For a "no-makeup" makeup look, I lightly lined my lash line with Purdy Brow Define Powder in Eastside. It adds definition without the harshness of a pencil.

  4. Lashes: A few coats of Onyx Mascara for soft, natural definition.

  5. Face: Use Full Coverage Foundation and True Mineral Powder for a smooth, flawless canvas.

  6. Cheeks: I used LAMIK I-285 to add a soft pink flush and a golden highlight to the cheekbones.

  7. Lips: * Pro-Tip: Base your lips with a tiny bit of foundation first.

    • Line with a pencil close to your natural lip color (I used Maple).

    • Fill in with Easy Nude or Clear Slick Lip Gloss for a fresh, hydrated finish.
